    Background

    Ojie Edoburun is a 100m & 200m sprinter who was part of the 4 x 100m Team GB relay squad at the Rio Olympics. In 2017 he is focused on the IAAF World Championships in London and ready to make his mark in the sprint world!

    How did you get involved in sprinting?

    I ran at a sports day for my secondary school, a worker at the track liked the way I ran and he said I should come down to the local track. Once I came I fell in love with the sport and haven’t looked back since

    Growing up, who was your all-time inspirational sports person?

    Donovan Bailey, I’ve always loved the way he runs. And the way he won the Olympics was so impressive

    What advice would you give to a young, aspiring sprinter?

    Always believe in yourself, and never get disheartened if things don’t go to plan.

    Best sprinting achievement so far?

    European junior champion 2015 100m

    Tell us something that most people don't know about you?

    I enjoy creative directing. I really enjoy editing and making videos

    What are your top three sport nutrition tips?

    Stay hydrated!

    Be wise with meal choices

    What are your top three training tips?

    Always be willing to take criticism

    Be a sponge, take in information and apply it

    Don’t overthink things. Always have fun and be focused

    Can you give us an insight into your pre-race morning routine?

    I usually listen to music, I sometimes watch movies and tv shows to take my mind off competing. But as the time draws nearer I get into my zone and I’m ready to perform
